Feverishly Arting.

While waiting to get a call back from someone who needs a new employee it seems my brain has had a creative explosion. I can't seem to stop making things and if I do stop I get quite twitchy and sad. I learned how to spin my own yarn a few months ago thanks to my Aunt and a woolly mountain expo of all sorts of wooly hair and animals. So far I have made two things out of my own woolly yarns. A headband for my aunt who helped me get started and a small scarf for a friend.

My Aunt and her new headband.

A close up.

I cant seem to find a full image at the moment but this is the beginning of the scarf.

I have also been just crocheting other things to keep myself occupied. AKA Christmas presents..

Penguin mittens and headband for Jess
I can do these things because my friends have no time to read such trivial madness as what I am or not doing all day because they are super busy so woop!

Pink things for Casey to match last years pink things I made her.

Tiny mittens for Ange :)

I also bake a bunch now and send the extra into work with my father so he meets a bunch of people since he was new to the base. This has lead to being told I need to open a bakery, but lets be honest I don't have the patience to have that much stress. Here are some things I baked... and upcoming Christmas plans. I wanted to send in Christmas cookies for the people so I found cheap kinda festive containers but as I stared at them more and more my crazy brain decided they were not actually festive enough and I had to fix it or the world would crack and end around me. So I made disk shaped doodles for the tops and a cartoon for inside.

Cinnamon Buns
Whoopie Pies

Not as festive as I originally thought...

Cartoon for the inside of lid "Merry Christmas to all who keep us safe" with an A-10 flying past Santa.

First doodle of the postman from "year without a Santa Claus"

Hermie the elf and Yukon Cornelius

The Heat mieser and Snow mieser fighting.

The Grinch and Cindi-loo-who

Charlie Brown and his Christmas tree.

And finally... this masterpiece of a man on a warthog body pulling Santa's sleigh with A-10 engines and the reindeer and presents in the back.

this is what they will look like together... MUCH MORE FESTIVE! YAY COLORS!

The cartoon will go under the lid so that it is not all crazy madness a subtle under the lid thank you to our troops. :)

I ended up liking them so much I rather want a set of my own ... but it is a lot of tedious work so we shall see i guess.

Christmas is coming! oh right and ART!

Getting ready to ship the first load of Christmas presents to Germany.

My wrapping went from monstrous to pretty darn nice in one year.

Glorious presents!

So being as my parents live in Germany and I am shipped there for Christmas to get to visit I have decided this year to send the presents ahead of time. Which also means that I have done most of the gifts already and am just waiting for enough to pile up to ship. However this is also problematic because it will ruin my nice bows so now I can show them what they looked like prior to smashed bow syndrome. A lot of the gifts are home made this year so I hope the recipients like them :) This way I don't have to pack presents in my suitcase instead of clothes. Which is always a bad idea when you fly into snowy areas with little to wear.

And now on to some photographs I am working on. This is from a series on churches in both America and Europe. The top image is from Switzerland and the second one is near my school in PA. It is currently a series of 10 images and we were told to frame two and while most people would frame a picture of the whole church or the inside I found that these two doors were to beautiful to overlook, I find that they are my favorite two out of the whole series and while these pictures do the works no justice I will try to get a good shot later. To be honest I cant even help but stare at the top one the doors are not only a color of wood that you never see but it is intricately carved and just plain amazing. The red on the second door is so vibrant you cant help but love it and it is on the front of a church that looks pretty medieval. Each frame weighs a ton but I am in love and I can't wait to hang them, They are my first framed works that i did from start to finish and I just want to see all images done like this now.

These doors are so intricate I chose to frame them together the only two out of the set to get such treatment.

Horrible picture of the finished product but I only had my phone these doors are mind bogglingly gorgeous.
This is apparently called a mobius that I made for my Aunt and here she is wearing it :)
This was an early Christmas present that I sent her since she lives on top of a mountain and it gets cold way faster than Christmas so I cared more about her being warm than it being under a Christmas tree or opened on a certain day.  I thought it was just called an infinity scarf but I was informed when she got it that it was instead called a mobius and I believe her since she knits way more than I do, and is much more versed than I am. .... That is all for now :)

Adventures in Germany- Zoo Edition

Naughty Camels

Sneaky :-)

These were taken at the Colone Zoo in Germany, and in true zoo form the first thing I saw when entering was the camels sexing it up in front of some children which is always hysterical. "Mommy what are they doing?!?!" Always the funniest way to start the day but other than that it was pretty entertaining. I found it hysterical that the only cage that seemed to have an animal missing was the raccoon cage, I guess since they don't have raccoons like we do they didn't realize they needed complete enclosures unless they wanted to be fishing them out of trashcans.
